There are people on both ends of the spectrum struggling with their weight. Usually heavier ppl aren’t “flexing” it. And either side of the spectrum (and in the middle), it’s NEVER good to comment on someone’s weight. Prolly why OP posted here instead of telling roomie straight up

Please go to your local food bank! They always have food to give away and they don’t discriminate. Times are tough but so are you!
