9pm is normal for dinner 😭 but, I had roommates that would load the dishwasher at 1am & my room was also RIGHT next to the kitchen…

the place i work at literally doesn’t close until 8 and i don’t leave until 8:15/8:30 in mt p. i do not get home until 9 EARLIEST that’s not a crazy time for dinner, and i also grew up in a house where we eat at 5 and they’re in bed by 8. the importance of learning to live and compromise with other peoples schedules is huge and if u can’t then go spend 2k on a one bedroom🤧

In what world is 9 pm normal for dinner? 5-6 is normal 7 is pushing it the only time I’d count 9 pm as supper is if it was after sports but at that time everyone else has usually ate so your just running through a drive thru

In what world does it matter.

It doesn’t matter, my point was 9 pm is not a typical time to eat supper so if you choose to eat at 9 pm every night you should be respectful of the other people you live with and atleast try to be quiet

ur not crazy but not everyone was raised how you were either. some people have different schedules too and can’t be in bed by 9 every night. this could be solved by just having a conversation with them and asking them to try and keep the noise down as much as they can. you could get ear plugs or something too, it’s not fair to expect everyone to accommodate your schedule.

they should learn to compromise with me too by that logic

i’m not asking them to stop having dinner that late i’m asking them to be more mindful about the fact that my room is literally right there so they could at least TRY and be quieter

then i would recommend getting something like ear plugs or a sound machine. there’s also tons of info online about how to soundproof your bedroom, so you should def look into that. they should try and compromise more for sure but you can only control what you can control 🤷‍♂️

Could just be cultural differences. Everyone I know eats dinner around 8-9pm or 10pm.
