I’m pretty sure the roommate even admitted to it being “Israel” wallpaper, when you search up “Israel wrapping paper” you can find similar designs to the one in this picture. I’m pretty sure the roommate is doing this on purpose because of a political belief.

This is one of the earlier posts explaining that the roommate wanted to make an “Israel wall”. It could be specifically Israel wrapping paper but personally I think it’s Hanukkah paper from some store’s clearance section as that would be easier to find and acquire in a short span of time (OP says he’s only been talking about this for a couple days).

I tracked down the exact paper to a Christmas website and it sells for $5 a pop. We know from the post before this that there were three remaining roles and I’d estimate at least three roles had already been used so at least $30 has been spent on this weird art project. That’s the long mathematical way of me saying way too much time and money has been put into this for it to be fake cause who tf would spend that much money to trick a bunch of strangers on a non-monetized platform?

Idk every time I’ve seen someone karma farm they just post the story then get defensive when you ask for photos or details. If this is fake this is the most effort I’ve ever seen put into karma farming on this app.

People have taken this app way too seriously in the past. As in, I’ve had to get federal law enforcement involved bc of “some trolling” on the app. Spending $30 to make some pics not even to karma farm but to make a political statement is very likely. I’m not saying it’s what’s happening here I’m just saying the monetary value isn’t necessarily the inhibitor (esp since someone risked jail time for this godforsaken app in my genuine experience)

It was ROUGH. It was about 2 years ago, if you were in or around us politics or the fat community you can maybe figure out who I’m talking about, but that lore went DEEP. Like….had fucking spies in group chats to dox more people deep 😭 some people care WAAAAAY too much about the dumbest things, like this app and their presence on it

Person would go on there to “troll” by encouraging people to off themselves via anorexia and that would be a net benefit to society, frequent posts calling fat people disgusting, and more. But they would spam comment in such a way that they would get 10 upvotes instantly and then immediately delete the comment so they couldn’t be reported or blocked. Even if you did manage to block them they could still comment under posts

I’m currently on the side of “it’s a possibility but not likely”. It’s highly unusual in this community to go this far for YikYak karma, usually people just make up a story then blow up at anyone who asks questions.
