I have my own room/ac unit, but my medication makes me wayyy too hot due to it causing issues with body temp. regulation, so I have to keep my room cold. Sometimes it being on the lowest, isn’t low enough
In a silent war with my roommates and the thermostat rn. There is no reason to have the ac on in the middle of winter. I turn the ac off and then someone goes and turns it back on

That’s understandable but your roommates shouldn’t have to suffer just because you’re hot when you can open a window or turn a fan on

I agree, that’s why I have it set up with campus disability to have my own dorm. I’ve actually ended up in the ER from heat exhaustion & that was with the temp on the lowest + 2 fans

My Dr. snapped with my accommodation letter stating word for word “Access to air conditioned environments during classes, activities, and living arrangements. The ideal situation would include a private living quarters where the patient could adjust temperature to a level that would be comfortable for the patient but without other people having to experience discomfort because of perceived overly low temperature.”
