You know you can close your bedroom door and turn off your own lights pookie. Are you actively trying to sleep on the living room couch? Put a blanket over your head? Turn over? You’re trapped in a prison with no bars

there’s no reason for lamps to be on in a room that isn’t occupied that’s crazy

I mean if she wasnt using the living room and those lights were on, thats valid. Besides ppl trying to sleep, its wasted money adding up to the bill from unused lights being on.

All of the living room lights shouldn’t be on at 1am 🙏

Just an overhead adds plenty of light unless yall have a shitty lightbulb. Im kinda on OPs side here just because they’re probably splitting the cost of the bills.

It was all the living room lights that were on, and they were in the kitchen with that overhead light. They weren’t in the living room, and there were four lamps on.

So then leave your cat outside the room for the night if it bothers you so much? You don’t own a communal space. If your roommate is actively using that space or can see into it while cooking it’s so rude to turn off all of the lights while they’re using it, what if they wanted to go eat in there?why do your needs trump their needs?

Didn’t turn off all the lights, they had the overhead kitchen light on and then left 4 lamps on in the living room that didn’t affect the kitchen at all. Also no need to cook at 1am when home all day 🫦

But like genuinely why do you think you can tell someone when they can and can’t use their own kitchen?? And again what if they wanted to eat in the living room. You could have turned off a couple of lights and not all of them, and spoken to your roommate asking if you can turn off all of them since they’re presumably right there and you just passively aggressively shut everything off instead of using your big boy voice

Didn’t tell them they can’t use the kitchen, just turned off four lamps that were on in the living room. That was not all the lights. The overhead in the kitchen was still on. You have reading comprehension skills of a toad 😭😭

it’s not like you shut the light off on your roommate in the kitchen as she was cooking. cause then you would be the asshole

It’s their house too and you’re also up🙏stop being a baby, be an adult and put a blanket on the crack of your door if it’s seriously that big of an issue.
