they usually talk to the roommate about the issue first and if no change is made the RA will take it to the people in charge of the dorms and the roommate will either get a warning or go on probation

taking it out on your RA is just childish- what do you want them to do? Their job isn’t to get you a new room or pamper you, their job is literally to mediate until it gets to a point they can’t. She’s going to inform your roommate that they are violating boundaries of the dorm room and go from there. But what do you expect? RAS are students too. If you want a new room go to the head of housing. These are things you need to talk about during the move in process

Sorry you’re in this situation man but what did you expect? Obviously he’s gonna know you talked to the RA when the RA issues a warning, who else would have reported him? Try to request a room change if you think he’s gonna pitch a fit and make your life hell

You quite literally get a free place to stay and help with tuition in some places as well. Y’all are so ungrateful. Don’t do the fucking job if you can’t do it right same as any other job you’re literally there to take care of people it doesn’t matter that you’re also a student 🥰

You say that but the RAs spend hours writing reports and residents don’t respect there boundaries and constant overwhelm them try having midterms or finals and having no time to study because you are writing reports my friend is an RA so don’t say nothing if you have never experienced it because I’ve seen the effect it has on my friend it’s quite literally the most time consuming job on campus as long as the RA actually does their job so sorry you have shity RAs only

Nah I’m not even a freshman anymore just sticking up for the fact that they still have a job to do, yes I feel for them and know some treat them horribly and ofc I do not agree w that!! I’m not now I was at my old collage tho and they gave me a lot more benefits then this shit they give here it is not worth it at all to deal with that much extra work just for the room I would actually get paid
