…other friend holds my hand. First friend keeps saying “well you know you can hold my hand” and shoving her hand at me. Other friend has to tell her no that does not help (other friend is my safe person). I’ve known other friend 4 years. First friend since kindergarten. Other friend has diagnosed autism. First friend has “claimed” autism. I’m not diagnosed but I don’t claim it either, I just say I have issues with overstimulation. Other friend pulled me aside and told me that first friend is

Im starting to think after reading this that you guys are trying to drop hints instead of telling her directly about your issues because this will lead to more strain and anger unless addressed directly

100% not autistic. Especially bc she changed a lot about the way she acts after the diagnosis. Like she infantized herself and suddenly cannot do things I know she’s capable of doing, like parts of work non related to being overstimulated. He also told me that if she genuinely had overstimulation problems for years as she claims, then she would try to prepare for that instead of needed my loops, water, fidgets, etc. stuff that me and him carry/know we will need because we do experience that.

I’m sorry guys, I really needed to rant this, I know I’ve posted about part of the situation before, but the first friend is still very much acting like a child ever since being told she has a symptom of autism to “fit the mold” I guess. And me knowing and being related to people with autism find it kind of offensive. If she got diagnosed that would be one thing, but the way she acts with it is infuriating. And she’s making it an issue for others/using stuff we need so then we can’t use it

Also I realize I said “after her diagnosis” but I meant after being told she has symptoms. Not after diagnosis. I’m also told by therapists I have symptoms but I never say I have it

We did. I’ve tried to talk to her about it and she waves me off bc “you don’t have autism”. Even though I was tested and drs/therapists really wanted to do a second round as there’s high suspicion for autism (it’s just too expensive and I only went bc we knew I had ADHD and I needed accommodations)

The only time she listened was when other friend told her to stop asking me questions/trying to hold my hand as it was actively making it worse. I need one hand on a safe person or object while the other is on me. Idk, that’s how I recenter

Oh also, if I’m already overstimulated I tend to go non verbal/have a hard time talking bc I’m trying to center. So her constant questions do not help. I try to warn people when I feel the unease but sometimes things happen and it HITS
