Should also add that when I asked him to do this he came up with like five different excuses for why he couldn’t do it including his ADHD and depression and now he’s asking that I stack his dishes on the counter before I put my own dishes in.

Keep doing it. It takes two minutes to unload his dishes if he doesn’t have two minutes then maybe he needs to get up two minutes earlier. He’s also is spending more time making up excuses than doing the simple task.
