-I forget to run the dishwasher some nights so I run it the next morning -roommate complains because she showers in the morning and now she has no hot water -roommate suggests we just communicate before running the dishwasher So now it's not "too much work" because she's being inconvenienced 🤨

yeah that's fair to be frustrated with it fs. ik some roommates that have a white board or just write in expo on the dishwasher marking it as dirty or clean. when yall fill it up you can mark it as clean and such. idk if that's much of a solution for your situation but it's something
