It’s really not. I’m not saying thanks 🤷‍♀️ they didn’t say thank you when I cleaned the whole apartment at move-in, cleaned their spills in the fridge, mop every week, empty the dishwasher… but that’s not even the point. you shouldn’t be doing things for “moral dessert” you should be doing them because they’re necessary. I’ll say thank you the day my roommate learns how to simply clean up after themselves which they can’t even do

Yeah you don’t have to say thanks if they’re not doing the same. just keep in mind saying thanks is how you show you appreciate people and their effort. you’re not in the wrong if you don’t, your roommate is however.
