Why is it that entitled people mistake kindness for express permission? I told her she could use my coffee creamer once because she was out and the store was closed. That was two weeks ago and she has yet to buy her own and is leaving mine a mess!

I told my roommate I like doing the dishes because it makes me feel nice and I don’t trust the dishwasher. I don’t like doing an insane amount of dishes but a few is nice, and obviously I do my own. They took this and ran and there were constantly dishes out for days in our sink last semester.

Literally my old roommate,gave her permission to use my microwave to heat up water but it turn to her using it to microwave any meal thing she wanted including homemade mug cake that causes me to feel sick from the smell 😭

Did you tell them you would do their dishes? But I also don’t see why that would prevent them from using the dishwasher for their own personal mess

i offered to do dishes that they left out for a while whenever i did my own dishes and would let them know. i also often washed dishes if there were too many or if i needed a dish that was dirty that they used and didn’t clean yet. at the beginning of the semester i think i did like most or all the dishes because there weren’t many and i like a clean environment, but my schedule started to pick up. they used the dishwasher but not very often, likely bc they assumed i would do most of the dishes

Yeah. I would definitely tell them that because of your schedule increasing, they need to do their own dishes.

we’ve got it now thankfully but it was getting to a point last sem esp with them leaving the apartment every so often and having a surgery and being gone for the last like two weeks and not cleaning before leaving
