"It's just the Star of David" okay and any other religious symbol being plastered over a door would be weird too. Like maybe one little door decoration would be normal but the whole damn door??! Especially if it wasn't communicated with the other roommates....

hi! it’s not ā€œIsrael wrapping paperā€. it’s hannukah themed wrapping paper with the star of david. nonetheless, his behaviour is concerning and you should definitely reach out to someone because doing this isn’t normal.

it is NOT that serious it's literally just a design that is the same shape as the star of david😭

Does he know what it means or did he just get it cuz it looked cool? Because at first glance it just looks like a geo pattern

He’s talking about hanging up a flag in the living room too

If he wants to put up the Israeli flag then it’s def not just about the symbolism of the star

The flag seals it but the door wrap is just the Star of David, it’s important to be accurate because bad actors will turn anti Zionism into antisemitism if you’re not careful

Good point, major door decorations should be communicated and agreed on by all unit residents

I just made another post. Now he’s starting to cover the wall.

Wtf you don’t just get to make major changes without input from your living mates 😭

about 80% of the planet's population are in an organized religeon, the majority of those people express that religeon through symbology and explicit expressions of faith. Idk how it's odd when it's something over 50% of all human beings do

Yeah duh, I’m also part of an organized religion??? But it would be weird as hell if I covered the door of s as shared space in crucifix wrapping paper or whatever. This is odd behavior.

OP posted a separate update where the roommate is now planning on covering a wall in the paper then explained that this only started a couple days ago and was never mentioned prior. I think there’s something going on

the roommate doing this is conflating the two. if it was the israeli flag, that would be israeli wrapping paper. it’s not israeli wrapping paper.

But this isn’t about the star or the religion. This is an Israel obsession. I’m pretty sure if they made Israel flag wrapping paper he surely would’ve gotten it.

yes, it’s in israel obsession. they also do in fact make that wrapping paper.

still doesn’t make this specific wrapping paper an israeli wrapping paper.

And on this episode of the worst hill to die on… Yes he has an obsession with Israel but it’s clearly leftover Hanukkah paper he most likely bought at a discount. Just because the Israeli flag has the Star of David on it doesn’t mean every Star of David pattern is the Israeli flag. It also doesn’t become Israeli paper because he’s using it for that purpose.
