I agree. Mine expected us to be besties but I told her before moving in I didn’t want a roommate in the first place but needed an affordable home for a year (nicely ofc I’m not a dick). I’m a full time student and have a job, I’m rarely home. Wasn’t anything against her, I just don’t have the time. She’s still upset about it I think she wanted a bestie but I seriously don’t have the capacity when I get home I need to eat and sleep.

Ummm you don’t have to be friends with your roommate. I just do my own thing and still respect her space as much as it’s mine too. Sometimes you realize not every roomate wants a friend and that’s ok. Just respect each others rules and boundaries and I’ll be cool.
