My roommate won’t ever turn off her tv and keeps the remote in her bed so I can’t turn it down once see is asleep. Idk what to do I have already talked to her about turning it down or off and she just doesn’t listen. It’s about to just get turned off

me personally have been the other roommate, but only when ive had my own room. talk to her and see if theres not a sleep timer option (there is on roku tv) or in my freshman year, i would watch my shows on my computer on low brightness with my airpods

Wake her up every night “hey can you turn off the tv” till she gets tired of being woken up

Thanks, I don’t mind the brightness but she doesnt get that I can’t sleep through the sound. I’ve talked to her in the past but it just doesn’t last more than a day. She refuses to wear headphones which makes it more difficult 😞 I’ll ask about the timer

i completely get where ur coming from and honestly its invalidating of her to ignore you, because ive for sure turned down my stuff/worn headphones when im on trips with friends/fam bc i cant fall asleep without sound. im sorry she’s being so stubborn OP, best of luck 🫶🏽

also if you have an RA report her if she doesnt respect ur boundaries… it is a legally shared space and she cant dominate it

Update: I talked to her and she blew up and has now turned the tv up more… I have talked to the ra because she is refusing to talk to me and slamming doors she also left a note on my desk saying she has a text on Friday and I am not allowed in the room from 5-8 pm. I will be at sorority formal anyway so this could have just been a conversation… the ra is talking to her this weekend and then next week we are sitting down with the ra to set up a plan of what time the tv needs to be off by
