This is why yall should’ve paid just 2k more for a single like me

I didn’t want a roommate tho… I APPLIED for a single and would’ve PAID for a single if I could’ve. I would never in a million years be like “yea I pick this roommate cuz she stays up till 3am yelling and won’t let me sleep, it’s perfect!”.

i do think its insane when they are ALWAYS in the dorm. Any person is entitled to some alone time. My old roomates never left and always had people over, moved out and it was the best possible decision for me

we're in a community called roommate rants. one of the annoying things about having a roommate is having someone in your room that you can't kick out when you’re sick of them. it doesnt mean the roommate is wrong for just existing in their room, but i'm not sure why everyone gets so upset when ppl complain about it in this community that is literally designed for complaining about ur roommate...

no bc at some point ur roommate does need to leave. all my roommate does is skip classes so she can play games and sleep all day 🫩 she doesnt even shower dawg 💔🥀

idk my roommate dominates the space even when i tell her i need an hour (MAX once a week) because i struggle with my mental health and actually can’t be ok without a bit of privacy. i guess she’s entitled to it but i would give her that kindness and she doesn’t care about me or my well being

this one silly yet VERY truthful post is bringing out the weirdest people 😭. me and my roomie would get sick of each other so the one who is tired of the other would go somewhere else or to the space under our beds and close our sheets we put up like curtains.

This reminds me of my roommate that complained about that but I literally had 7:50am class and wouldn’t be back for a except around 3-5pm for an hour and then go to class for 6:30-8:45pm and after have dinner from 9-10pm THEN I got back to the dorm 💀 And she had the audacity after to tell me to not come back until 2am TWO FRICKIN AM because she invited friends over and she is “always the one that hosts the parties” omgg 💀 💀

And how do yk that everyone complaining abt their roommate being in the room doesn’t have an issue as well? There wouldn’t be anything to complain about if everyone’s roommates had a life, job, and each had their own time to themselves, especially when most dorms are just one big room with 2 people… nobody wants to share a room with anyone even when we lived at home with siblings…

there doesn't have to be a problem with something for it to be annoying. i leave the room when someone turns on a blender because i don't like the sound, it doesnt mean its morally wrong of someone to use a blender. if i complain privately about the sound of a blender that doesnt mean i think they shouldn't be allowed to make a smoothie

No the school just sent it out and said “hey this is your roommate you can’t switch rooms or anything have a good year.” It’s not their fault for living in the dorm but it is their fault for not getting out… like I wouldn’t have to resort to being rude or mean if they would leave for like an hour so I can have time to do stuff that I can’t do while they’re sleeping all day.

So then you have no right to be talking about this subject… you have “shared spaces” boi you live in a house not a dorm. I living in a singular room with someone and I share a bathroom with 4 people. You can’t be hating on someone for something you don’t live.

It wouldn’t be a problem if both parties agreed or gave eachother time but when one is constantly in the room, not going to class, up all night, and yelling it gets a point. I cannot be the only one who leaves the room. And when I am in the room and try to do stuff when they’re asleep it’s a BIG issue and I get yelled at but it’s not a problem for them to stay up till 3am yelling.

now those are legit problems. some people complain because their roommate is literally just existing. not because they’re doing anything but because they’re not. that’s what op is saying. example: how’re you mad because you walk in and see your roommate sitting and reading a book? they don’t want their roommate existing in a space all the time but whole time the roommate also pays for the room and is able to enjoy it.
