
More than likely a trip to the RA should shut that down. However, if that is not an option, I would make it VERY clear that you will have NOTHING to do with this dog for the remainder of your time there so she is completely on her own to care for and clean after that dog. I’m sure she did not think how she would get her finals done outside of “my roommate will be there so it’s fine” so have fun watching her scramble for alternatives
It isn’t really illegal since she has the requirements for an emotional support animal. She originally was gonna have it for only 1 day which was fine but now she’s trying to keep it for a week because she’s convinced someone will try to adopt it before she does, even though it’s been at the shelter for about half a year
This is why it’s important you tell her you’ll have nothing to do with the dog and it’s her responsibility alone. She clearly has no plan for how she’ll have this dog there for a week and will definitely try to have you “watch” (read: dump it on you to do her finals) it. If she won’t listen to reason then she’s on her own for figuring it out.
