When you are the one starting conversations all the time it gets old so eventually you stop.

No cause I’m so glad this popped up on my trending today because I have to have a hard conversation with my roommate about why she’s been talking shit behind my back

like my roommate says she wants us to communicate well and whenever i start a conversation when something’s bothering me, she says she was confused but she could’ve just asked or started the conversation instead of waiting for me to say something???

what if she’s proud of the fact that she’s mean and petty and scares me

don’t expect good communication from ur roommate if you aren’t willing to communicate with them as well

THIS RIGHT HERE!!! Because me and my roommate both start the conversations with each other but every time i say something she always seems uninterested. She doesn’t even give me real answers she just says “mhm” “cool”. Also i’m pretty sure she messes with my stuff when i leave campus because my blanket covering under my bed was half way off and my big blanket was off my chair under my bed and i always make sure my stuff is where i had it before i leave.

Agreed, but if my roommate had that big of a problem with me, why wouldn’t she come talk to me about it instead of spreading it around

The same thing happened to me. I was the only one who ever started conversation so eventually I stopped and we just didn’t really talk. Then my roommate pulled the we need to communicate more and I was just done.

agreed, i’m always the one starting conversations and she always gets defensive and says she was confused but how could i know she was confused if she never asked me or brought it up?

this is currently my issue. i would always start the conversations and she only responded with 1-2 words every time, and she never starts any conversation. so ive given up and i stopped talking to her other than me asking for permission to invite a friend into my room for a second since she put it in the roomate agreement 🙃
