Absolutely not crazy, especially if you guys are sharing a common area or anything a heads up should be pretty much mandatory

The reason she’s flipping out is because she wants to violate your boundaries. Stay firm and remind her of this boundary. Get the RA involved if available and go over the visitor policy on your lease if not.
