idk if there’s a group for neighbor rants, but i am at my wits end. i actually hate my downstairs neighbors. (see comments)

they keep putting their trash in my recycling bin, and when i put a sign saying “recycling only” on it, they took it off and continued to put trash in it anyway, so it’s not like they don’t know.

Get a padlock for your recycling bin or move it somewhere they can’t access it. As for the ceiling vacuuming, if that keeps up file a noise complaint. Not much you can really do about the laughing outside of asking her to be more mindful of her volume.

the girl is CONSTANTLY laughing SO DAMN LOUDLY. imagine one of those halloween decorations with a motion sensor that does an evil laugh when you walk by. it sounds like there’s a spirit halloween below me every single second she’s home.

and i think her boyfriend VACUUMS THE CEILING?? i was sitting on my floor and i FELT the vacuum attachment scrape on the ceiling right beneath where i was sitting accompanied with vacuum noises.

like i know it could be a lot worse but my old neighbor was so chill, and there were times where she would throw an entire party that was quieter than the new people laughing. i wish i was exaggerating. i live in a nice QUIET neighborhood in an old house that was divided into multiple units so its not like its an apartment complex either.

i have always tried my very best to be quiet and not fall into the Upstairs Neighbor stereotype, but i don’t care anymore

unfortunately the recycling bin is shared (we have our own trash bins) otherwise i would’ve moved it months ago

Is it just you two sharing or do other apartments share it? Either way I think you’re not the only one this couple has annoyed so it might be time to get everyone else in the house involved in telling them to keep it down and to use their own trash can.

two units share one recycling bin (four units total) and the other person who shared a wall with these people spends most of her time at her boyfriend’s house so i don’t think they’re bothering her too much. i will definitely be asking next time i run into her though because there’s no way she isn’t annoyed when she is home. i’m pretty sure none of us have actually met these new(ish) people despite them being here since june because they never leave their apartment
