Support her hobby and give her some talc and fluon (ant anti-escape barrier) and a plastic tub to keep them in.

Terro liquid ant bait traps. One of those babies should wipe out the issue then you have 3-5 more in case she does it again

When I get ants I use borax mixed with peanut butter to kill them, it works really well to kill the whole lot
