I haven’t broken anything in our contract they get very defensive and rude when issues arise and don’t answer us.

If they’re gonna report you over something petty you should definitely report them over legitimate issues. Get the other roommates to do the same because the bad roommate is eventually gonna try to pull the same stunt on them.
