In cases like this when someone says āI hate white peopleā in context. It comes from a place where white people have the privilege and entitlement to do soemthing like this. The same cannot be said about black people, which is why it would be taken worse, because most black people DO NOT have the privilege to act like this roommate right here, so said comment would be more offensive, because itād be coming from a different place.
Thank you. From a white person who comes from a family who doesnāt enable every decision I make and void me from all accountability, I can recognize that majority of white people I know do have families like that. Trying to sit down and have a conversation should never escalate to this, and her managing to take the victim stance when she is anything but is wild
Her parents are well off and enable her by paying her way out of a conflict instead of sitting down and just talking it out. She has a victim complex and thinks everyone is out to get her, which ties in with her white privilege and the tendency of white people to think the world is against them when it reality, itās them. The ācultureā behind the fact that she canāt clean and is dirty and lives in filth is also something iāve seen more common in white familes. Using her mental health issues as
an excuse to why she is the way she is, instead of trying to improve her behavior and actually get help, is also a white thing. I also have mental health issues, and so in no way am I saying that mental health isnāt to be taken seriously, but it shouldnāt be used as a scapegoat. I have also surrounded myself with people from different cultures and backgrounds, and have seen that these traits are most prominent in white peoples
Okay yes thatās true. Iām just coming from a place where most white people iāve known have acted this way and are insufferable in the sense that something is always an issue with them. The POC i know are nice and welcoming. Iām sorry for generalizing and I wasnāt literally meaning that her white skin is what makes her behave this way, but more the environment that upper class, white, straight women are raised in
a poor mental state can last years. trust me. when i say āright nowā it could mean her whole college experience so far, unfortunately. at least thatās how it is for me. although my poor mental health doesnāt affect my roommates. itās probably for the best that she was moved elsewhere, for the both of you.
