I’m the opposite but I understand. I grew up sharing with my siblings and though it taught me a lot, now that I finally have my own things I HATE sharing. I like my things clean, well taken care of, smelling nice while my roommate is actually so gross. It’s not much of a culture shock, but my rm definitely either grew up with ppl cleaning for them or no one cleaning at all

this was most definitely me. i’m used to my own stuff, my own disorganization, and my own space. my ex roommate would always bring in guest to our shared room even if i was in the shower, wouldn’t clean, & just did not understand the room being my safe space when it was literally our only space in the dorm building!
