I worry that my roommate thinks I’m gross or rude or a bad person because of my depression symptoms. I don’t have the energy or motivation to do things like take out the trash or do the dishes, and my room is a mess. I feel bad about it but idk what to do

If you think you know how your roommates feel I think that you should be doing something about it then.. I get that you have depression symptoms but it gets to a certain point especially since you’re in college now.

I think you know exactly what to do. I understand, I really do. As someone who’s battled with mdd for years, I’ll go a while without brushing my hair or my teeth, sometimes I eat like shit. But when I share a space with someone I make sure I do the responsibilities expected of a good roommate. It’s common decency. I know it stinks but you’re just creating an even bigger issue for yourself later on if they get upset at you for it. You signed a contract, you’re accountable for your actions.

uhh. get medicated or seek help instead of making someone else miserable bc you decided to not even try 🤷‍♀️

And sharing the space^ if you had these symptoms before then I feel like maybe you should’ve made the decision to get your own space/room
