No, I don’t think it’s valid unless they post for everyone but you. But it’s silly to get caught up on this, my best friend posts on her story for my birthday and I’ve never posted for her birthday. It’s just social media, no one cares at the end of the day. What matters is they made you happy on your birthday, people express themselves differently.

addressing comments: yes we’re friends not random roommates, it’s the typical duo in a trio dynamic tho (sadly we used to have a 3rd roommate who buffered the awkward tension but she transferred… miss her) yes they post for their other friends birthdays. and make a huge deal with event planning for their friends bdays. all i got from them was a two text!! no plans or anything i fear they secretly hate me 😭
