Many reasons. Battered partner syndrome, codependency, can’t afford to live without the income of the other, fear of being single is stronger than the hatred of the partner and/or the relationship, fear of change, comfort in discomfort, list goes on

my roommate and his gf (im planning on probably not rooming with him next semester) they dont get physically as in hitting, but they be throwing shit, not at eachother, and screaming at eachother, and crying. their mental illnesses are piggybacking on eachother even tho my roommate is medicated. wouldnt it be funny if u were talking abt my roommate lmao
