i hate to be that person but i have an issue where i can’t eat during the day, so i kinda go to bed hungry and then wake up starving and craving salty/etc foods that are in crinkly wrappers. ofc i tried to be really quiet to not wake up my roomie but i’m sure she really isn’t trying to be loud 🫶🏻

who wants to make themselves uncomfortable at 2am when we have exams to do and work😭😭 there's meds to take bc i also struggle with eating during the day, if u haven't gone to ur doctor abt it yet. loss of sleep affects people mentally unfortunately if its a everyday thing

As someone who also struggles to eat during the day, there are definitely ways you could be considerate of your roommates sleeping without forcing them to sacrifice their comfort at night. I for one cannot sleep with headphones or earbuds or earplugs for comfort reasons. That would be more disruptive to my sleep than listening to crinkly wrappers. You can always put your food in a different container and quietly leave the room to do so or you could go find a common room and eat in there

I cannot sleep in ear plugs for one and I feel like there are probably others who are the same way and for two they don’t mute the sound if anything it’ll just muffle it a little bit and you can still hear that disturbance

On top of that, i don’t feel like i should have to accommodate YOUR snacking and make myself uncomfortable??? Get different snacks or put them in a container or something, no reason I should have to plug my ears for you right?

Why would someone sleeping have to accommodate to you eating loud food?? I’d hate to have to wear headphones to bed almost every night just because someone decides to eat at night

im sure it isnt intentional im just not a confrontational person and its just so frustrating that someone would think its okay to do that
