My residents were okay noise-wise last semester…THEY ARE EVIL THIS SEMESTER Tell me why I haven’t gotten a moment of peace when I’m in my room…screaming, yelling, slamming doors, running around…I do not love living in a dorm right now even if it’s free

Lowkey- the vice-versa happened with me (I'm on the quarter system). What helped me was asking supervisor for advice, sending email reminders to the entire floor, and having the support of other RAs when enforcing quiet policy. It takes time, confidence, and a firm approach but it does get better :)

See I have talked to so many of my residents about this and even when I’m not on call I will ask them to quiet down, but I don’t want to have to spend like an hour writing them up at 1am when I’m not on call😭
