i really feel like if you are still able to work professionally and kindly then you really shouldn’t be penalized for not being buddy buddy with them 🙃 that’s really shitty of them, esp mentioning the cliquey nature and your personal situation

Maybe this is a hot take, but I feel like I’d prefer to be on a staff where people aren’t close. Seems like less drama

Tbh I’ve worked on a staff where we’re all SO close and a staff where I literally do not know people’s majors and tbh being more distant is much better and easier. Imo ur fully in the right here to set whatever boundaries you want as long as you’re courteous and can work with the rest of staff, which it sounds like you’re doing!!

Like youre telling me I might not get rehired because my coworkers arent happy with how close they are to me but thank goodness my programs are amazing!!

For context the staff is really clicky and ive been antisocial after dealing with some personal issues and losses, my boss is aware of it and so are some of my peers who wrote the evals…
