you can’t go to college and become more conservative. learning and information has an inherent left bias

Being in school made me more conservative … might be because I can see all the bias. I went into the school as a Centris leaving as a Republican.

What pushes you more to the right?

I think as a Mexican American, (born in Texas, but my mom is from Mexico) it was seeing how quickly people were willing to cheer for criminals. I’m lucky my mom did the process legally. My uncle did not and got deported, but even he told me “sweetheart I did it wrong, don’t worry I’ll be back” I didn’t believe him, I hated that he thought that… until I realized he was right. I also saw the hypocrisy on both sides but I see that the right is slightly more aligned with my beliefs.

…. i do pay attention in class. i also pay attention to people around me, and conservatism has shown itself as correct so far. but my opinions are fluid, and when i know better i do better ✌️

maybe a sociology class or psychology could help. maybe a history class or two. also science could be nice to learn how to research

hmm. you must be one of the extreme few who can go to college and still come out conservative

1. i’ve taken psychology, 2. i’m a huge history buff and have taken MULTIPLE history classes 3. i’m going to school FOR a science heavy degree. people are allowed to have different opinions. get over it.

i’m saying i can see how you can be republican after college. i don’t agree and i still think it’s a lack of information and ability to understand the world, but i understand where it comes from. maga is a whole different beast. if you go to college and are still maga there’s just no hope left

I like how you’re basically calling all republicans dumb by saying this. Like republicans can’t be smart.

i don’t really think you can be… i know that’s not what you want to hear but education and facts tend to favor the left. the right runs on emotion and disliking people more than yourself.

I think it’s the other way around, but whatever. I think the left cares about self-righteousness and the right cares about fairness.

are we being serious? the side that makes everything more expensive, takes away healthcare from poor people, gerrymanders to rig elections, uses ICE as secret police to racially profile people, and every policy is designed to make the rich richer while keeping everyone poor. they’re the fair ones?

I’m seeing things get cheaper. Gas in my area has gone down almost 30 cents. Nothing else has gotten worse. Please, tell me you think the left has never drawn new district lines. ICE is upholding federal law. He isn’t “abusing power” or anything like that. He’s literally doing what is supposed to be done. I’m actually kinda concerned that it isn’t going faster.

you can see the CPI below showing things getting more expensive. and no, the left does not unfairly redraw lines when they know they’re going to lose. texas was already the most unfairly racially gerrymandered state and they got away with making it worse. ICE agents are kidnapping people because they are brown and shipping them off, don’t try to deny because I’ve watched it happen and know people who were wrongfully deported. he abuses power on the daily, says he hates his enemies, restricts…

freedom of the press. attacks his enemies both verbally and in court (where he loses most of the time). he spreads VILE hatred and nastiness. he is the hitler of our time, and i’m very confident in my side of history. we can see how you react in 20 years when the red had is synonymous with the white pointy hood as it is now

I’m also in college and have become more conservative. Getting a degree in a STEM field and have taken multiple history classes as well. It’s about my values.

yikes in a STEM field? i have a hard time believing anyone in STEM could believe in trump, purely because it’s so easy to point out his fallacies and lies with easy to prove fact. coming from a STEM degree in one of the most conservative schools in the US, nobody in my major or any STEM major I met was conservative because we know better

I don’t support Trump I’m just conservative. I am genuinely angry with the eradication of science by our current government between RFK and funding issues. Still, conservative at a difficult STEM school with a 4.0

idgaf about ur GPA it means nothing. it’s good you at least don’t like maga, the last step is to gain some life experience and understand that republicans spend their lives making the average persons life harder. once you understand that, everything starts to fall into place. this coming from someone who was conservative then moved from my small town and learned

You say educated = left leaning so I gave you my GPA as an indication that I’m educated. I’ve worked full time and supported myself since I was 16. Republicans don’t think the average person deserves handouts. It’s a values thing for me. I didn’t expect handouts when I was struggling and I don’t want to be forced by the government to pay for handouts for others. I donate and volunteer but I’m not forced.

i’ve worked since i was 14 and have not stopped since, yet i still believe people should get an equal opportunity in life. it kind of sounds like you haven’t had to endure very much in life, such as extreme loss or being a minority in some way. usually life experience and understanding helps you to relate to other situations, and help you understand why programs are needed in the first place. and gpa != educated, idc that you got an A in your freshman classes.

I have and I worked through it and didn’t make myself a victim. I wasn’t working/living on my own at 16 because my home life was good… I go to a 72% male school as a female and I deal with bullshit because of that all of time. I value working harder to overcome struggles and not expecting help.

education and facts such as men can be women, Biden is sharp as a tack, the right/anyone who disagrees with you is a Nazi, and the COVID vaccine is 100% effective at killing the virus (i’m vaccinated and boosted and all that bs btw)

we never claimed biden was sharp, nor promised 100% effective vaccine, that’s simply not how science works. if you took the time to listen to something other than fox news or propaganda central, you’d stop regurgitating the same fake talking points. and why do trans people bother you so much it’s kind of weird

and talk about a narrative, what about injecting bleach like trump said? or storming the capital to overthrow the government? how about removing funding from cancer research, and hating immigrants so much your side shuts down the government over fake claims. all they have to do is sprinkle the words illegal or teams somewhere and the hateful ideology picks it up, 99% of the time without any truth to it
