You should just ask him if he’s a regular drinker and make your decision from there

Sobriety is a really big thing for me in a relationship but it being a goodbye party is confusing me on if it’s only for special occasions. Am I jumping to conclusions?

I wouldn’t overreact. It’s a goodbye party, of course he’s gonna drink a bit. Talk to him about this is important to you and see what he says
