My bf has suddenly been taking hours to respond and is only answering with one word responses. It started last night when he said he felt bad and went to bed early. He also stopped saying I love you back. I have no clue what could have happened in a day

Sorry to hear OP. If he cared he would communicate. Maybe he is in a low point in his life will come around. If he doesn’t come around, it means he doesn’t want to communicate and leave you in the dark. Time will tell what this is.
