Tbh that’s usually how a lot of relationships start. You don’t just start off having feelings for someone you don’t know at all. First you are attracted by how they look or how they present themselves and then over time you develop feelings. Unless you guys started off as friends and then got together it’s pretty normal for things to start off by just wanting to have sex

I think you can be romantic after also just being lustful at first. If you weren’t friends first, he didn’t know anything besides what you looked like. He knew he liked what you looked like a lot, and after he knew you deeper, he knew he liked that part of you too, enough he wanted you for real. I think he just worded it horribly
