Is it bad to be upset when you see girls your bf recently followed/ liked their pictures?

Like I understand it’s social media that’s the point, but I always get an uneasy feeling.

When he stopped the feeling went away, but he started again. I’m trying to figure out how to stop caring about it without bringing it up

I had to have this conversation with my boyfriend because I couldn’t let it go. I explained to him that if you’re following girls strictly for their looks on your personal instagram and liking their pictures, that’s basically a public way of saying that you like them and it’s disrespectful. Regardless of if that’s how he feels about it, that’s how every other girl views that action including the girl whose pictures he liked.

He’s going out of his way to try and make another girl feel good about her appearance at the expense of your comfort and he needs to be told that is what is happening because he probably thinks it’s not a big deal. When I showed my bf how many other girls view it the same way I was, he got the point that he was publicly sending the wrong message and embarrassing/disrespecting me

All that being said, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT if he is following someone because he’s genuinely interested in the content she makes and likes the pictures as a show of appreciation for her work, even if she is attractive . If it’s literally just a pretty girl and the only reason he follows is to see her face/body and then let her know “I like your face/body” and that’s it, that’s when I had the issue with it

For me personally it worked a lot better when I went into it explaining “this is how the action is perceived by others as well as it makes me feel this way” instead of saying something like “when you like her pics it makes me feel insecure” even though that was true, but then he wasn’t just trying to comfort and reassure me, the main focus was now on why the action isn’t ok, not just that I’m feeling insecure
