He broke up with me. I’m shattered.
I’m in a 1.75 year relationship and we’re long distance for most of the year while he’s at school. He still has 6 years of college left and doesn’t think he can do both. But he still wants a future? I’m confused and hurt. I don’t feel like enough for him.

Sorry to hear OP. Sounds like he put unreasonable conditions as his way to break up and not admit you were his emotional support but just as a resource rather than a person. Typical even for medical students before they get their doctor license for example.

Explore your wounds and turn them into a super power. Take the precious times you had together, forgive him and move on and don’t reopen that chapter. Put yourself in the idea of what’s better for me and what is in the moment because trust me, in a confused sentient of your life you’re looking for someone of stability, outstanding character and dignity. Once you shift the focus from this endeavor, better; more charismatic people will come to you. Love yourself and leave the cards to the universe

Yeah he treated me like I should be a constant support for him and yet my feelings were just “inconveniences”. I could also never do exactly what he was expecting of me because he never communicated what he needed, and somehow all of that was my fault.

This is one of the best things someone has said to me since this happened. Thank you, stranger, for your words of wisdom 🫶🏼
