Yes I tried that and said every other month and something always came up for one of us and it was like that for almost 6 months. And we both kinda just gave up. It was cool when she was with me but then I kinda knew it wasn’t going to work. Stay some kinda friends tho.

Set aside a certain day and/or time slot for JUST fun activities. You can call daily, but you need a special time just for “dates” even if that means playing a game online together, screen sharing a movie or show, having a long call, cooking the same recipe while on call, etc

I would do this with my LDR bf once per week. We would call nearly daily just to talk about our day, but date day set aside every Sunday morning
