I am going to be breaking up with my boyfriend of almost 2 years, because something feels off. We’ve been long distance a bit but I can’t pinpoint it but we went to a wedding together and it didn’t spark anything. He didn’t do anything either. Any advice?

I’m in nearly the exact same spot, just a gut feeling that it isn’t my forever relationships. And I feel stuck because I have people telling me to leave and date around while I’m young but I also feel I owe it to my partner to try to make things work to make sure I don’t regret leaving and wondering what could have been.

talk to him about how you feel first and decide if you want to do anything to fix it together. it might just have been the distance causing a disconnect. that can happen sometimes

Over time the inital spark changes, it isn’t as new and exciting, it’s comfortable and familiar, and long distance can make connection hard. All new relationships are exciting at first and then calm down. If you love him, then he’s the right guy but otherwise then move on

We have already had a talk 2 months ago about me wanting a break and things feeling off…

I wanted a break and instead we just said it’s something we will work on and I’ll go see my therapist and talk with them about it

I think my plan is to wait until I have another chunk of time with them and see what my guts are telling me then, rather than when distance can throw me off my senses. There, instead of interrogating myself why for the 1000x time, I just need to listen to myself and my gut and follow it. I think the right person will have the right feel and it’s too early to settle.

Kinda comes from a Steve Jobs quote "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path. And that will make all the difference."

I’ve read all this. Your partner is cheating

i assume it hasn’t gotten any better though. maybe you should go back to that plan and take a break to see how you feel. i think it would be even better to have a conversation about how you both feel and if you want to continue the relationship though because it doesn’t sound very connective and satisfying rn.

Way to take OP’s post and make it entirely about yourself 😭
