I told him it hurt my feelings and he says he meant it in a “you’re everything I’ve been looking for / all I’ve ever wanted, you’re perfect” type of way

To me this sounded like “you were good enough so I settled on you” but upon reflection I’m realizing this man has no reason to be settling yet. We’re still so young why would he be settling lmao I think he just meant it in a different way than I took it
