Your feelings are completely valid! As a girl, we do this a lot because of insecurity usually caused by an ex. If she doesn’t have an ex that potentially put this in her head, maybe try having a conversation with her about how you feel when she accuses you of that. If you’re already had that conversation, try bringing it back up. Communication is key, however, if she isn’t respecting your boundaries and feelings, then maybe give the relationship a second thought. You’re doing great❤️
Ask her what about your silence makes her feel that way. Maybe use some kind of quiet sign that means “I’m okay, just need some mental rest”. As a bipolar depressive, when I notice that I’m feeling off, I use three squeezes for “I’m okay/I love you” depending on how close I am with a partner. (Can also use to convey that you see your partner stressing, and you’re there) try a word, that you both agree upon, that means “WE are good, even if I seem like I’m not” there’s tons of ways to communicate
That’s very refreshing to hear actually! I like that you are making an effort to put her first. Have you guys ever tried counseling together to work through this? I know it’s not for everyone and not everyone is comfortable, but just an idea for the future if it continues. But putting her first is very important and I’m glad that you do that- hopefully that makes her feel secure in the relationship you two have. I hope you work this out, you sound like a great partner. Keep communicating!
