
Try considering other peoples perspectives, what’s a “silly little post” to you actually referenced a common and deep rooted issue with media, especially music, where white artists are praised for using black culture and themes before throwing it away once it’s not trending anymore. Meanwhile the black people who created that culture in the first place are continuously ridiculed and treated as less then because of it. Educate yourself.
Even as a “joke” you as a white person shouldn’t be praising cultural appropriation. You said in your post “pretend to be black” which means you’re fully aware of what she was doing and still didn’t care and even found it funny. Idk where the audacity you have came from but this is not your place
You know what? You’re right. I did intend for it to come across as humor, but I didn’t think about the implications that my statement has. I didn’t really know just how harmful my language was so I do apologize for the harm I caused. There very much is a difference between intent and impact so I will work to be better.
