
i completely agree that interrupting a quiet moment is a bit rude but at the same time it’s also coachella(which is known to be rowdy and crazy) shes not performing at the grammys or smt more formal. what i meant in my og comment is that i understand her reaction but i also understand why some people could interpret it as her being rude. different cultures express things in different ways and that’s ok but assuming that everyone would automatically know what that means is the problem.
i understand where you’re coming from but america is full of different cultures and people. like i said before, i do think people are taking this way out of proportion. however, just because we are in america doesn’t mean everyone has to act like/be a traditional “american”. people should be able to express their cultures and traditions but should also understand that not everyone will understand or accept it.
that was their way of showing excitement and if they want to do that at a festival, they should be able to do that. saying that someone can’t do something harmless, such as making a noise, simply because “we don’t do that in america” is like saying you can’t speak other languages here. again, i don’t think sabrina should be getting hate but neither should the people that did that either.
