Because it’s fake and has been disproven?

If I say you dmed me horrendous stuff does that mean it’s true? Show me the proof that it happened other than her just saying it?

You said it’s fake and disproven. Where is the evidence for your claim

Yes but we need to pay attention when they come up

What’s your proof

The burden of proof is on the one who makes a claim. You just made a definitive claim—what is your proof

In that case her claim is dubious but not disproven. Important distinction. Childhood sexual abuse often causes severe mental health issues and erratic behavior and family members often cover up abuse within the family. Her alleged history of lying is enough to cast doubts if true, but this is not the same as being disproven. That being said we have to be careful not to fall for the perfect victim trap, as victims are humans and can be deeply flawed while still telling the truth

There are three states a claim can be in: proven, disproven, and unproven. It’s not fair to call accusers liars due to lack of evidence, just as it is unfair to immediately assume the accused are guilty. You have to apply the logic equally to both sides

Saying it’s been disproven sounds like you have evidence that it’s fake rather than she lacks evidence that it happened. You can’t actually disprove something because they just don’t have enough evidence to prove it happened, that just makes it hearsay but not inherently false.

Hearsay is very specifically when someone is saying something that can’t be proven and it’s just his word against hers / rumor. What do you think it is?

that is literally not what hearsay is - you’re using a legal term you don’t understand

Hearsay isn’t just a legal term, it’s just a term. A synonym to rumor and just basically something that can’t be confirmed in the given moment or ever. So I’m using the word correctly.
