you wanna talk about her music? okay then let's talk about her music. taylor swifts entire career has been rooted in whiteness. she started in country music which has been historically racist towards black county music artist. she writes songs about the white experience for white women. she's currently engaged to a man who has historically ONLY dated black women. taylor swift doesn't collab with black artist because she knows they would outshine her.
the quality of her music isn't anything spectacular. it's mediocre. she's not a strong vocalist or dancer. what she is decent at is lyricism but again her lyrics are a direct result of her white upper class, now billionaire life. she knows black women would sing circles around her. which is why she's only ever collaborated with ice spice a poor excuse for a rapper. I mean she was practically forced by her PR team to thank Beyonce for paving the way for her to even BE this successful.
so yeah, if you truly believe that taylor swift being so popular has nothing to do with her race then you're wrong. she's a prime example of being rewarded for white medicority. she now feels threatened and insecure that her mans preference is black women, her antithesis. hence why she literally wrote a song expressing that.
the only people who say "not everything is about race" are the people who have the privilege to not make everything about race, bc for you assuming you're white it probably isn't for me a black women whose an aspirationing musican it is. im not talking about mediocrity within a vaccum. she's not an all time great and never will because bc she has no relevance within the black community. literally at all. unlike true greats, michael jackson, prince, dolly parton.
