If there wasn’t a culture of left wing social progressivism in most art spaces (Hollywood, TV, theater, art, etc.) most of these people would probably be fiscally right wing. Their political opinions are, 90% of the time, performative. As for why he’s a grifter, it’s because America no longer has a healthy conservative movement. MAGA hijacked right wing politics and has been increasingly polarizing and increasingly extreme.
I mean the left does too. It’s a lot of times marketing. It’s not just in politics, it’s in everything. Whatever can get us to buy into something. Reliability doesn’t even matter anymore cause companies and stuff rely on big names to influence people who don’t know any better despite the person/product being crap
The upper-middle class tends to lean more left, yeah. I’m not referring to the upper-middle class though. I’m referring to multi-million and billionaires. The Elon Musks and Jeff Bezoes of the world. It’s just a statement of fact that fiscal conservativism protects their interests.
