I loved lore Olympus. I donât know why people were saying that there werenât healthy dynamics because⌠itâs literally Greek mythology known for being problematic so it can only be so healthyđ there is redemption and itâs just filled with female rage in a good way imo. Itâs basically a story about a woman who gets assaulted and goes through stages of grief and Hades helps her through it and she finds her own power.
I thought the art was unique and beautiful and while the story wasnât the most original, I feel like it was very well done for its own purposes. It wasnât meant to be showing âthis is how your relationships should beâ but just the experience of a woman truly. It helped me a lot when processing my own sexual abuse and fighting my controlling mother and things. It wasnât extremely accurate to mythology but it wasnât supposed to be either, I thought it was a great take on it
I feel like the people shitting on it really just werenât the target audience or only started reading after it was so hyped up and it fell short of the glory. Or of course there are the people who shit on it just for the trend. Which itâs fine for something to not be for you, but being upset that someone many people love is being made into more media is just stupid.
i started reading lore olympus when it just hit webtoon, far before it got extremely popular, and i initially liked the art and premise a lot. however, as time went on, not only did the plot worsen significantly, the art also became extremely flat, uncanny, and simply poor quality. seeing how badly the comic had fallen off quality wise made me revisit the rest of the narrative before dropping, and there are honestly so many holes and blundered character moments
a prime adaptation would have to significantly revamp it to produce a show of any measurable quality, and i just donât have confidence theyâll do that. beyond that, amazon is complicit in a lot of the administrationâs current crimes, so iâd encourage people not to waste their time on the service and just boycott. there are many other good adaptations worth watching
