I like how Pokémon Go handled it. Trading isn’t necessary for evolving, but there is an extra cost. Mainline games should offer something like that. Or in the anime, there’s a self transfer machine that causes a Pokémon to evolve. Also would be nice. Even if there was a special requirement for operating it.

Especially asinine now that Nintendo Switch Online is a thing. Sorry, you have to pay extra to complete your Pokédex!

real. i loved (not) using a machoke on my team in platinum and having no way to evolve it until i finally found my lost diamond cartridge (after i already beat the game..)

Especially when some games are now impossible to trade pokemon unless you both happen to have that gaming console still

I liked how Legends: Arceus did it where you could just use the Linking Cord to evolve them

I think moving forward, they can try something similar like in legends arceus they made a universal for all trade evos. I do like the self transfer machine idea too

i guess it’s kind of nice that in swsh/sv you can find some fully evolved trade evos in the wild, but it’s not the same 😔

Exactly, like I want to raise them myself
