Graduating soon and no one will take care of my greenhouse plants after so they’re making me throw them out. This shouldn’t be a big deal but I’ve grown really attached to my plants and it feels almost like I’m murdering my babies. Am I really weird?

I’m moving after graduation in what feels like just a few weeks, and I’m worried I won’t be able to take all of my plants and propagations with me since I’m going so far :c Ik im literally gonna cry trying to pack them all into the u-haul I’ve been so distraught just thinking about it because they really have been the first things I’ve actually grown myself and they’ve been through a lot with me, so I feel you op 😔

No I think it’s a valid reaction, they were with you for a while. I literally cried last year when my very first plant and about 3/4 of my plant collection got thrips and died. Mind you I got all these plants in college. They helped me keep my sanity. Now I was graduated and they were dead. I cried and mourned them for a little.

Ur valid. Consider rehoming them thru FB marketplace?

Thanks for making me feel better. These are the first things I’ve ever grown and it really hurt to dump them like they were nothing.

Maybe you can sell them or donate them to a local plant shop or something so you don’t just feel like you’re murdering them?
