I set my English ivy plant in the windowsill of my dorm, my window faces east. I know they only like partial sunlight, is it getting too much sun?

Your plant looks super good so far! Make sure to monitor growth and look for dead/unhealthy leaves. If you are concerned about it getting too much sun, just move it for a few hours.

it should be fine where it is!! if you notice a poor reaction you could reduce the exposure to the sun and move it from the window during the most direct hours of sunlight

looks fine to me especially because it looks like it gets filtered light in the afternoon

Considering an east window only gives direct light in the morning, I would say that is partial sunlight.
