hey everyone :) i bought a pothos about 3 days ago and usually I wait at least a few weeks to repot but she’s super outgrown her nursery pot: roots are coming thru the bottom and everything. Can I repot? Or is it too early? I don’t wanna stress her out :(

2 things could be happening. A: the roots have outgrown it and it does need repotting. (Most likely) B: They just wanted to grow that way for some reason. (Possible but less likely) Have you ever taken a plant out of a pot before to check the roots and if not do you believe you know how? The real check would be to see how densely the roots have grown but honestly at this point and with how resilient pothos are I see very little harm that could come from repotting.

Yes I have! I watered him the other day and he didn’t retain the water very well, which tells me I should probably repot him , right?

Depends how dry the soil was. Most potting mixes actually become hydrophobic if they dry out too much. The best way to counteract it is to bottom water it until the top most soil is visibly wet.
