hi guys thank you for the replies! the pot we had it in had no drainage, so we moved it to a different one with holes that was the same size. for the soil we had mostly used miracle grow, but also mixed some of a another “one size fits all” soil from a local greenhouse. We put it in brighter light in hopes that the soil would dry quicker since it was still super wet after 2 days. I’ve since gone back home but i’ll update if my sister says anything changes!

monsteras should be getting good light and i would not repot in the future unless root bound, it can cause the plant to go into shock! maybe you are overwatering?

Repotted using what soil? Monstera need what would be referred to as aroid mix. I’d take it out, check roots for rot, and repot in an aroid mix. This will cause shock but shock doesn’t kill a plant it just stops it’s from growing for a while. Also this plant is pushing out a new leaf so there’s some things going right. For the aroid mix- take the regular old miracle grow soil or whatever you got and add to it orchid mix or perlite or charcoal or coco husk or all of that shit together but

Also a moss pole is a long term solution for making it produce larger leaves. It will not solve the issues you are having

Also that pot has drainage holes right?

also roots looked good when we checked and we cut off that dying leaf so it wasn’t wasting energy on it. hopefully it’ll be okay :)
